At 29, LAJVANTI is a perfect combination of hard work, will, determination, and a dream come true. Having completed her 10th, she was always aware of the importance of education but lacked confidence and self-determination.
 

Fascinated by aspects of personal grooming she wanted to do a beautician course, but her meagre financial conditions were becoming a constraint on her aspirations.

“All courses I had looked up were very expensive, I could not afford the same”, She then came across the PRISCILLA PROJECT LCN Beautician course at Delhi  Gurgaon, “All  the PRISCILLA PROJECTS COURSES are  free and  even provides Free Beauticians material for poorest and poor women , so there I completed the course successfully in 2017. In between training, I assisted the teacher, and perfected in all the beauty techniques.

Now I got Beauty parlor material with saloon chair from Priscilla project and getting good Bridal orders now I earn well. I manage a minimum of Rs.8000/- a month, and if I get good Bridal orders, I manage to earn about Rs 15,000"says a proud Lajvanti wife of Bhara singh Karnal (Haryana) I am very Thankful to ANUJA DIDI for making me self-dependent”

Once again another academic session draw to an end.I take this opportunity to thank all our well-wishers and parents guardians whose unwavering support and participation provides with full zeal enthusiasm to perform better every year. ST. STEPHEN ACADEMY fully English speaking school established by Mrs. Anuja Lal, founder and Director of "Life Counts Now" She started Academy with this motto “Truth will set you free “around 8 years ago, for children who are need of good and quality education.

NON-FORMAL EDUCATION- ST. Stephen Academy also runs free tuition center and Non-formal education for Rac-pickers, Garbage collector and poor Children in Delhi and other state of India, LCN provide Free books, uniforms twice a year for all children in NFE. In Midday meal, LCN provide biscuits, fruit juice and bananas every day to students. The main objective behind providing fruit juice and Vitamin food is, to save children from Malnutrition and   improve the Health status of children.

Life Counts Now, is working for the last one decade to bring a change in the lives of Rack picker’s children and women. These are just a few of the life changing stories of the many children & women are supported by Life Counts Now.

Every day 6 hours,5-year-old Aayan was collecting   garbage to help his father to provide for his family. His culture trained him to earn money from the Childhood, as a result his two brother and one sister were involved in Rack picking with his father.

In 2009, During door to door survey our team came to know that Aayan and his brothers are not going to school they just collect the plastic bottles, Bear Rum bottles and sell to scrapers .so we motivated his parents to allow them for the study in newly opened Free education center name SATYAJYOTI. Parents   promised that from tomorrow they will send their children in our Non Formal Education Center.

Today Aayan and his brother and sister studding in Delhi Govt school in 8th Std. and one brother Aamir in 10th standard respectively. Parents feel proud, that by the efforts of SATYA JYOTI their children got good moral values and education. Last year in VBS we ask him what do you want to becomes, and he replied after some silence and said police Inspector

Ayaan is very hopeful in his nature, our efforts and prayers are for him and others that they may have a better future and dream can be coming true into their lives. The circumstances make them doubtful, but Life Counts Now is helping such a kind of Children to realize that and their dream comes to true in the future.

SALMA, is migrated from Uttar Pradesh (Meerut) She ,is Muslim and   lives in a small room with her father Ayyub and mother Sajida and 6 siblings, and the family is on its way coming out of its hand to mouth existence. To make ends meet, she enrolled herself for the Cutting & Tailoring course at Priscilla sewing center Gopala dairy, as a result of which, today SALMA started to stitch old clothes of her family and neighbors ,as she belongs to very poor category and  no enough space, so she started stitching on her father rickshaw,. She earns approx. Rs 4000/ to 5000/ per month and support her family.
